My trip to Sun kiss Acres

Some may know that I just came back from Georgia. Well in my travels I was able to meet up with a lady named Lori , who runs a horse rescue. And we all know my story and horses. Well this farm is doing the work of human angels that is for sure. Let me explain the events. I was to go there and donate my services and time to help raise funds for this horse rescue. (Everyone knows what a ding dong I can be. well Lets just say I did it again ha-ha. I went a month early LOL) As Jill and I drive to this lil sacred place we enjoyed our drive to the country side of North west GA, a  lil town called  Summerville. So pretty and quiet. As we drive in the driveway we notice no one is around Jill the whole way said I do not think we are going to be busy, I go well if not then it is still a good cause and we can meet this special pets that are in need of spirits work. Well she was right because in all the hustle bustle I confused the dates. UGH we were there a month Early! But believe me it was not a wasted trip. Lori is the founder and she is the care taker of this wonderful lil place. She has a cute lil house filled with animals. A three legged cat who is just a doll. The house has to be split due to a English bull dog that is a total lover but wants to be the only one in the house ha-ha. Which Lori has many dogs she is trying to find homes for. Lori was in town at wallmart and we called and she came back to meet up with us. In our waiting we walked around the farm. You would have to be there you guys Oh my what a place of thank you the animals are saying. This woman takes in the old retired animals or lost dogs and cats. You name it and she would take it in. It is not just a horse rescue it is a animal rescue dogs, cats, donkeys, mules, horses and I am sure there has been others. As we walk around we go to the first barn. This is the retired barn, as walking through we see many loveable horses . Old and injured but loved. An mare stood out to both Jill and I She had lost vision in one of her eyes, but you could see the caution in her. Some of these animal has been treated wrong!  The mare came to the side but as Jill took the picture she went back to the wall. The flash scared her. But later as we walked through with Lori She was right up front waiting for her. The Imprints that humans have left on these wonderful creatures is a shame But yet here is a woman doing all she can to help them. There is about 11 horses that are in need of sponsorship. To help maintain their daily care. Lori gives them the best she can She trucks in hey from out of state and has many to help with giving these animals love and attention. The second barn is where she has paddocks that run out and these are injured and blind animals that can not be put out with the others. As we walk over the creek with the beautiful trees shading us we come to the second barn and there we see and meet by many horses. We both notice a lil donkey laying down in the stall the bones of this lil thing is protruding out. Lori had received this lil angel about a week ago. The donkey was tied to a tree where she had been injured on her hind by the ropes and on top of that dogs had attacked her in the woods so she had sever injuries. Her previous owner tied her up in the woods and left her. Lori got her in and vet advised her to put her down but she did not. The lil donkey is named heart for the battle she is fighting to stay alive. As Jill and I stand there looking in shock at how people could do this we notice the many other animals.  Beautiful paint that spoke to me and told me of his accident. he was hit by a car many years ago and Lori took him in and rehab him. He is missing a eye and has a leg injury. Horse with stories to tell. One has an injured leg another was blind, another with a muscle and bone disease the list goes on and on. But all know there are safe. They will not be mistreated anymore, they are safe. Lori runs this place as a retirement for the elderly and also runs it as a rehab to find homes for them. You can feel the comfort of the animals saying thank you. She has even gotten a couple horses from Maine to retire. I had joined a group called Alabama and Georgia horse lovers. Where they have been trying to help animals of the south. In this time I have seen photos of horses abandon along side of the road her feet wrap in duck tape and had wounds all over. The horse was found in a ditch, UGH! Yet people took her in and tried to save her but the horse was too bad . They had to put her down. As talking to Lori she said it was very common for people to do this. We hardly hear of such things it is kept behind closed doors. But here is a farm that is associated with other local farms of finding homes for these animals. If you want to donated funds, feed, halters, fly spray , or fly wraps it is in need. All is tax deductable and we all know with Maine's taxes we can use all the help we can get. Please you guys take a moment to look at her page. When at Agway stop and grab a brush or something and send it. She can always use it. Send five dollars to her to help with vet bills, Lil heart the donkey is still in need of treatment and so many others too.

Pittsfield: Monica's Naturally in Pittsfield on the first Saturday of the month. You must call  692 4957 to reserve  your spot. We can not promise that if you walk in we can not give you a reading. The first Saturday offers a variety of services from Reiki and body work to facials.

Winslow: The second Friday of the month I will be offering private session in Winslow at Back door to the moon from 10-4. Here again I ask that you please call and set up an appointment 692-4957. Group readings are offered the last Friday of the month. Sandi offers a variety of metaphysical and health care needs. Her inventory is a wide selections of products a must to find that special gift. 

Hallowell: Starting in April we will be offering group readings and private readings at Hallowell Clay works located at 100 Water St (main drag right as you come into town from Augusta area) Fee is 30.00 per person RSVP is required. Please call 626-7687 . The Date is Monday the 28th. There are slots open for private sessions before each event please call shop to confirm time and dates that are available. Also on May 4th we will be offering a class called cleaning out human closet. Fee for this class is 35.00 very large printed packet.
